Allied health professionals are often not financially secure. 60% do not have a bachelor’s degree, >45% have a combined household income of $50k or less, 54% have experiences housing insecurity in the last year, and 57% have experienced food insecurity in the last year. 2. People leave healthcare because of compensation and lack of fulfillment or work/life balance. They stay because of fulfillment and job security. 22% of employees said they’re pursuing careers in healthcare for personal fulfillment, while > 14% said compensation. 75% feel a sense of job security. 3. Career goals vary across allied health categories, but many individuals are largely unaware of structures for advancement. 1 in 4 people in non-medical roles would rather pursue managerial positions. Technicians are most likely to want to stay in current roles. ~40% of non-medical roles and technicians alike want to move into primary patient care. 70% of health professionals want to pursue and more advanced care position. 4. Education benefits would support retention and mobility for allied health roles. 52% of applicants at one Guild healthcare partner indicated fully funded education was the reason for applying. 48% if people planning to live would reconsider if offered education benefits. 34% higher one-year retention rates for all learners in Guild programs. 2x higher likelihood of a role change for Guild learners compared to non-learners.
